We made it!

The Cambridge group & our German group before taking off from O'Hare!

We finally made it to Reutlingen tonight at 5pm!  We were supposed to arrive at 1030 this morning (German time).  But we missed our flight in London and had to sit around for 7 hours! The day has seemed so long and we are all so exhausted.  But, our group pulled through cheerfully.  The 11 of us really have a good time together.  We get along well and everyone seems pretty laid back which is awesome.

After arriving at the airport, Dr. Becker and a MBA student, Sam, picked us up and chartered a bus back to the University.  We dropped off all of our luggage at our separate dorms (the 4 of us are in Adolf- Reichwein).  Suzanne and Andrea are on the 7th floor, while Lauren and I were lucky enough to get on the 1st floor.  Then, we went to Dr. Becker's apartment and got our bedding and other knick knacks the previous semester students left us.  After that, Dr. Becker, his wife and 9 year- old son made us a very good chicken dinner with rice, rolls and salad.  We drank wine and just talked about the day and plans for the week.  The other international students seem very nice too; two girls from Spain and New York came to our room and introduced themselves to us which was pretty neat.

Once dinner was over, we all came back to the dorms, unpacked and settled into what we will call "home" for the next four months.  Everything still seems so surreal to all of us.  We still can't believe we are here and doing this!  But, it's time for bed after such a long and exhausting day.  Keep checking- things will start to get exciting, we promise :)

Love,
the Germany Girls <3
