Hello everyone!
This past Saturday was our last group trip with our professors. Only Herr and Frau Brixner took us on this trip. We took a bus extremely early in the morning down to Lake Constance. On the way we stopped at a small town called Reichenau where Anna's ancestors lived in. The Brixner's knew the exact house, so we made a pit stop and took some pictures of Anna in front of the house. It was really neat! Then we made our way to Lake Constance. The lake boarders Germany, Austria and Switzerland! So, it is pretty big. But, the town of Constance, was SO CUTE! It was full of blooming flowers, fountains and benches lining the promenade along the lake. In the horizon over the lake, you could see the Swiss Alps, so the view was just incredible. We got into town and had a city tour. We visited the main church and learned all about it's history. There was some sort of celebration going on, so there was music and people EVERYWHERE! It was so neat. We had two hours of free time, so we grabbed some quick lunch and just took in the beautiful lake and weather. We also walked about 10 minutes down one street where the tour guide told us we could walk into Switzerland. It was kind of neat to be standing in two countries at once! :)
After that, our bus got onto a ferry boat and brought us across the lake to another peninsula town. We had some time to explore and got some good shopping and took in the beauty of the tulips. They were all over the place here. With loving flowers so much, I was in heaven! After that, we got back on the bus and drove to the town of Zwiefelten. Here, Frau Brixner told us all about the church and we went inside. It was the most intense church we have seen, and we've seen a lot now. There was so much going on everywhere with color, gold and decorations. It was very interesting! Then we got dinner at the local brewery and had a great German dinner...it might be our last sit down German meal! Ah!
After that, we were all so tired, and got back on the bus and had a fun ride back...chatting ALL the way home.
This week marks our second to last week being abroad. We all just can't believe it! This Monday and Tuesday we have our Economics presentations, so we have all be preparing those this weekend. It is our last week of actual school and we're all very excited about that. These next two weeks are just going to fly by! We will keep you posted on the fun last things we're doing!
Love you all and see you in two weeks!!!! :)
