Day 1 of Class!

Today was our first day of classes! Anna and I actually got up early and were on time for class! Miracle, I know! We met our Deutsch teacher... Frau Brixner. First name Olga. Quite possibly the most joyful person we've met here in Germany! We learned simple phrases and she had us repeat them and literally laughed so hard everytime someone spoke! She finds a lot of joy in teaching us German! I can already tell we will have MANY stories to tell about her.

Then we had Art History class with Herr Springer. Anna and I decided he's way too intellegent for his own good and his hair looks somewhat like Albert Einstein! But he's great! He's the professor that will take us on our trip to Paris in march! He talked a little about it today and it sounds like it will be an amazing trip!

The following is an example of how much art Herr Springer knows:
He split us into groups of 2 or 3 and gave us a 1000+ page art textbook and told us to reinact any random painting in that book that we wanted to. So we all did and he guessed everyones...except Anna, Abby, and me slightly fooled him. But we still gave him the credit because he knew everyone elses! Pretty cool!

The four of us decided to go for a run since it got a little warmer out and most of the snow is melted. We went exploring and found an amazing park and running path very close to the university and the view of the hills was spectacular as we ran. Probably the highlight of my day!

Everyone cooked their own dinner tonight. Each floor has a full kitchen! It was really fun and healthy and much cheaper than going out all the time!

We planned our trip to Munich this weekend ( there are nine of us going!) and we got great deals on hostels! We also planned out a lot of spring break which is quite a headache...but it must be done and done soon!

Bed is sounding good to us all. Another full day of class then a party to watch the inauguration of our new PRESIDENT!! :)

Goodnight from Germany,

Lauren
