Ahhh...finally a day of sleeping in! We had a fabulous time these past few days but they were exhausting and we were able to sleep in this morning. We woke up at 1230 and were off to Tubingen at 140 this afternoon. We had our first experience on the trains :) where we will be spending a lot of our time these next few months. It was still very cold out but again we had a great time! We met our art professor and he was our tour guide for the day, Heir Springer! He was hilarious and gave us the inside scoop of Tubingen. He lives there and comes to Reutlingen to teach us. He showed us the university and a castle. Tubingen is a really hilly city and has a ton of little one way cobblestone backroads. Everyone there uses a bike to travel around. We walked up to the top of a huge hill through the university campus and a castle up to a beautiful view of the town. Hier Springer took us to his house in the side of the mountain. We warmed up with cookies, coffee and tea which was amazing! Jeremy and Linda, two previous valpo students, took us from there to the restaurant to meet up with Heir Becker and our other professors. We had a great dinner with the whole group. Heir Brixner the language teacher, Heir Springer our art teacher, Heir Becker and his family were there as well.
We leave for Weimar and Berlin tomorrow morning at 650 and we will be gone until next Sunday so we won't be able to blog until then since we won't have computers. Look for an update soon! We might be able to find an internet cafe!!
Love the girls!! :)
