Just another day in RT paradise

Looks like we are in for some more winter. The groundhog was right. We so far have been blessed with some warmer weather than those of you at home but the forecast for the next few weeks looks a little different coming up. We are to have snow, sleet and pretty cold temperatures coming up here in the next two weeks. Looks like we are back to bundling up. Today was just another crazy Monday. Classes went from 9:00 until 5:15 straight except for lunch break and a few minutes between classes. We had another fun art class with Herr Springer. He takes time in class to show us architecture in different locations to help us get excited to travel but bring in a twist of education. Today was about Gothic cathedrals, We looked at Greece and some cities in Italy like Rome, and Florence. We also saw beautiful pictures of Santorini and Athens in Greece. It definitely got us excited. We also took a mini field trip with Herr Veit through the laboratories on campus. He took us to the building that was like a factory. We walked through many rooms that were full of extremely large machines that were used for textile making. It was really cool to see how the machines were so intricate in the work. Some of the strings all looked like spider webs strung across the room. We saw the weaving, knitting and areas for making cotton items. It was really neat. We also learned that Reutlingen University was first a university for weaving and that was what it was created for. Life truly has changed since then. We are so blessed to have this opportunity and also so blessed to have the technology we have these days. Thanks to this blog, skype and emails we can keep in touch with everyone so easily. We have a fun week ahead and a little break from traveling with our German rail being expired. It will be nice to do day trips fairly close around the area.
Love and miss you all!
Love, Andrea and the girls
